2009: We walked through Jesus’ life and ministry as recording in the Gospel of Mark, praying, “Jesus, we want what you want.”.
2010: We continued that journey as we daily sought His direction from the New Testament.
2011: We began the year seeking wisdom from the Book of Proverbs and reading through the narrative of the Old Testament.
2012: We turned to the life of Jesus recorded in the four gospels.
2013: The Letters of Paul guided our sermon series and our discussion.
2014: We read the book of Psalms in one year and focused on prayer.
2015: We focused our hearts and minds on the Stories (parables) of Jesus.
2016: We looked at the major and minor prophets. We hope to discover how we can live with courage under pressure.
2017: We began the year diving into our core questions, then moved onto studying the women featured in the Gospel of Mark and are finishing out with the Messy Life of Jacob in Genesis.
Read the Word, Listen to the Spirit, and Respond with Your Life.
8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; READ
meditate on it day and night, LISTEN
so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. RESPOND.
Why are we asking you to commit to Read · Listen · Respond in 2017?
The answer is to seek God together and to allow God to work in our lives, through the reading of His Word, and the power of His Spirit to become more grounded in Jesus, changed by Jesus and close to Jesus.
As we ask you to commit to Read · Listen · Respond together in 2017, here is the motivational question: Do I want to be fully prepared to be and do everything God has intended for me?
We hope you will join us as we read the Word TOGETHER and seek daily guidance from God our Savior through the work of our Lord Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.
